Location

Broad Park House is situated in Umberleigh North Devon and only 10 miles from the coast. We are easily accessible from either car or train, and Exeter airport is less than an hours drive away.

By car travelling from the North, leave the M5 at Junction 27, Tiverton. Take the third exit on the roundabout onto the A361 to Barnstaple. Exit after 27 miles on the second roundabout by taking the first exit to South Molton. Drive through South Molton, taking care to keep right at the second zebra crossing. After a hundred and fifty yards, take a left turn onto the B3227, signposted Torrington. This road brings you to Umberleigh. Turn left towards Exeter at the end of the bridge, opposite the Rising Sun. After 1½ miles on the A377, turn right after Weirmarsh Farm and Resturant. We are the third gate on the left up this lane.

Umberleigh has its own train station, which can be reached in less than 10 minutes. The train runs about 8 services each way per day and is on the line to Exeter.

We are perfectly placed for walking, fishing, golfing and surfing holidays.
It is an easy drive to South Molton, the gateway to Exmoor, where there are wonderful walks, safaris and horse riding opportunities.
Another short drive and you reach the beautiful North Devon coast. The local beaches include Westward Ho !( for spectacular waves and walks,) Instow, (for peaceful strolls,) Saunton sands,( for surfing or watching), Croyde & Woolacombe,(both surfer's paradises), Ilfacombe ( with it's beach tunnels and lovely harbour) ,and Combe Martin ( for rock pools and crab catching.) Further around the bay is Clovelly with it's famous cobbled streets, and the rugged Hartland Point. We are on the Tarka rail link, and it's easy to get a train into Barnstaple or to Exeter. It is only a few miles to Great Torrington with RHS Rosemoor and it's wonderful gardens. Bideford is within easy reach and offers boat trips to Lundy Island, the famous nature reserve.
